Working with Crystals on the 7 Main 3rd Dimension Chakras

seven main chakras

Our chakras are energy centres that lie within our aura and are located along and around our body. The word chakra is Sanskrit and means ‘wheel’ which is appropriate as each of our chakras spin, very much like a Catherine Wheel. If you were to look at a chakra from the side you would see that it is actually conical with the smallest part of the cone being nearest to the physical body.

There are a total of 21 minor chakras within the body and 7 main chakras. Today we will focus upon the 7 main chakras and will explore how to work with crystals to balance the chakras.

The locations of the 7 main chakras are shown below:

The role of the chakras is to act as an interchange for internal and external energies. Each chakra vibrates at a specific rate, becoming faster the higher up that they are located on the physical body (i.e. the crown chakra vibrates at a higher rate / faster than the base chakra). When the chakras are vibrating at the specific rate that they are meant to everything within the physical body will be in balance and harmony. The chakras however are influenced by our thoughts and emotions and these can significantly affect the rate at which the chakras vibrate. This can result in the chakras spinning either too fast or too slow and therefore becoming out of balance.

Each of the 7 chakras are related to specific organs and glands of the body, so when a chakra is out of balance the amount of energy flowing to it will be adversely affected. This results in symptoms/disorders of organs and systems relating to the specific chakra that is out of balance.

There are many books written about the chakras and different aspects that they correspond with. However, for the purposes of this article we will focus upon: the location of the chakra; the life aspect relating to the chakra; the colour of the chakra; the glands and organs the chakra governs; and which crystals can be used to balance the chakra.

How to use crystals to balance your chakras

One of the easiest and most effective ways to use crystals to balance your chakras is to lie down on your back (somewhere comfortable) and to place an appropriate crystal on each of your chakras.

The following simple routine can be followed once a week for 20 minutes.

  1. Find somewhere comfortable to lie down on your back. Place cushions as appropriate in order to get yourself into a position in which you will be comfortable and undisturbed for at least 20 minutes.
  2. Choose appropriate crystals for each of the seven main chakras (using the guide above, your intuition or a crystal reference book for information on which crystals to choose).
  3. Place the chosen crystals on the appropriate chakras and relax with them in that position for 20 minutes.
  4. After 20 minutes has past carefully remove the crystals and slowly sit backup making sure to take the time to return fully to your surroundings before getting up completely.
