Crystals for Beauty: 5 simple routines to try at home

Crystals have been used for beauty purposes and beauty products for as long as people have used crystals. The Ancient Egyptians for example used to grind Lapis Lazuli and Malachite and mix them with water. They would then apply this to their eyes to use as an eye wash or as eye shadow.

In the past couple of years there has been resurgence in the use of crystals in our beauty products. A quick search through Google and you’ll find a plethora of articles introducing the latest beauty product to be imbued with crystals. Popular choices include Amethyst, Ruby, Tourmaline, Diamond and Rose Quartz to name but a few. As great as these products can be, as crystal loving women with our crystals at the ready, we know that we don’t need to spend oodles of money to get the best from our crystal friends.

Today we are going to look at the different ways in which crystals can enhance our beauty routine, especially our facial beauty practices. So with your crystals poised for action, let’s take a look into the world of crystals and beauty.

What we are going to look at

Today we are going to look at 5 different ways in which we can easily and inexpensively add crystals to our beauty routine. Whilst it’s not necessary to try all of these techniques at once, I would recommend that you try our first technique. This one is all about placing crystal energy into either our serum or face cream. It’s a beautifully powerful one and comes highly recommended.

We’ll also look at how to create crystal beauty essences, how to use crystal rollers and crystal spheres to massage our face, and how to create a crystal grid for relaxation and anti-aging.

Routine 1
Infuse Your Face Cream and Serum with Crystal Energy

For this exercise you will need a crystal wand, point or a tumbled stone of your choice.

Wands and points work best but if you do not have either of these please use a tumbled stone as I don’t want you to miss out on this wonderful experience.

  1. Cleanse and activate your crystal before beginning the steps below.
  2. Holding your pot or jar of cream/serum in your non-dominant hand and your crystal in your dominant hand, point your crystals towards the cream (after removing the jar’s lid).
  3. Visualise diamond white light entering base of your crystal, travelling through the crystal and merging with the crystals own energy. Then visualise this beautiful blended energy leaving the crystal and pouring into your cream/serum.
  4. You can do this for as long as you feel is right for you and for a minimum of 5 minutes. Continue to picture the crystal energy seeping into every part of the cream. You may bless the cream in any way that feels right for you.
  5. When you feel that the work is done, give thanks to the crystal, place it to one side and replace the lid on your cream.
  6. Your cream / serum is now ready to use as you normally would.

Routine 2
Crystal Beauty Essences

For this exercise you will need 2 or 3 tumbled stones of your favourite beauty crystal. Choose a crystal that will complement your skin type. Popular choices are Sodalite for dry skin, Amethyst for oily or combination skin and Rose Quartz for general care. There are so many different choices so a little research will really pay off.

  1. Cleanse and activate your chosen crystals before beginning this exercise.
  2. Place your crystals into a glass bowl and fill the bowl with filtered water.
  3. Place the bowl into sunlight for one whole day to energise and allow the crystal energy to combine perfectly with the water.
  4. After 24 hours you can bottle this water or store in your favourite container to use in whichever way you choose.

Routine 3
Using a Crystal Roller to massage your face

Crystal rollers, commonly made out of Jade or Rose Quartz, are a great way in which to reduce puffiness and reduce stress and tension. They are relatively inexpensive to buy and easy to use. All you need is a roller, your favourite serum and a facial mist/toner.

  1. Cleanse and activate your roller to super charge its healing abilities
  2. Apply your serum to your freshly cleansed skin.
  3. As the serum soak in mist your face with your facial spray. This helps to ensure that the roller is not pulling on your skin as you use it. We don’t want to stretch or damage the skin and it helps the roller to move easier across your skin. Continue to mist throughout the process.
  4. Following the advice of roller expert Dayle Breault, it’s important to visualise a vertical line running down the centre of your face from your forehead to your chest. Throughout this exercise you need to treat your face and neck as two separate sides and not cross over this invisible line with your roller.
  5. Starting at the middle of your forehead, gently but firmly guide the roller outwards towards your ear. Do this action 2 – 3 times.
  6. Move a little further below your face, and again, gently but firmly roll in one motion towards your ear. Repeat 2 – 3 times. Never roll back and forward. Continue in this manner until one full half of your face is complete.
  7. Take your roller and work on the other side of your face. Make sure that you roll from the centre of your face out towards your ear. Repeating each section 2 – 3 times as outlined above.
  8. Once your face is complete, take your roller and work it from your jawline down to the base of your neck. Continue working around your jawline guiding the roller down to your collarbone.
  9. Relax for as long as you wish after you have completed this facial massage.

Routine 4
Using Crystal Spheres to massage your face

If you do not have a crystal roller but do own a crystal sphere that is of a comfortable size to hold (2cm diameter is a good choice) the exercise below is a good choice. It takes a little longer and can be a little more tricky (don’t be alarmed if you drop your sphere more than once – it just takes practice) but once you get the hang of it, it is very relaxing.

The type of crystal that you use is up to you depending on your skin type.

  1. Cleanse and activate your crystal sphere to super charge its healing abilities
  2. Apply your serum to your freshly cleansed skin.
  3. As the serum soak in, mist your face with your facial spray. This helps to ensure that the sphere is not pulling on your skin as you use it. We don’t want to stretch or damage the skin and it helps the sphere to move easier across your skin.
  4. As with the roller technique above, it’s important to visualise a vertical line running down the centre of your face from your forehead to your chest. Throughout this exercise you need to treat your face and neck as two separate sides and not cross over this invisible line with your sphere.
  5. Starting at the middle of your forehead, gently but firmly roll the sphere outwards towards your ear. Do this action 2 or 3 times.
  6. Move a little further below your face, and again, gently but firmly roll the sphere towards your ear. Repeat 2 – 3 times. Never roll back and forward. Continue in this manner until one full half of your face is complete.
  7. Take your sphere and work on the other side of your face. Make sure that you roll from the centre of your face out towards your ear and follow the steps above.
  8. Relax for as long as you wish after you have completed this facial massage.

Routine 5
Crystal Facial Grid

This simple but effective facial grid is a great anti-aging treatment that will also allow you to relax and unwind at the end of a busy day.

For this facial you will need:

  • Somewhere to lay comfortably for 20 minutes undisturbed
  • 2 Rose Quartz tumbled stones
  • 2 Aquamarine tumbled stones
  • 1 Jade tumbled stone
Crystal Facial Grid
The Steps:
  1. Cleanse and moisturise your face before laying down comfortably
  2. Carefully place you stones on your face in the following positions
    • Jade tumbled stone on your 3rd eye
    • 1 Rose quartz piece on the top centre of your forehead
    • 1 Rose Quartz piece in the centre of your chin
    • 1 Aquamarine pieces on each cheek
  3. If you are experienced at making crystal grids, you may activate the grid on your face using a crystal wand to connect the crystals. This however is not necessary
  4. Relax in this position for at least 20 minutes to fully feel the benefit.

So there we have 5 simple but powerful ways in which you can use crystals to enhance your beauty routine. I hope that you have found then both interesting and of use.
